Introduction to Sustainable Beekeeping

Would you like to know how to keep bees sustainably, on a small scale? Many people would like a colony of honeybees in their garden, and on this course I will show you how a hive works, and how to keep your bees happy and healthy with minimal intervention.

  • Topics covered include:
  • What type of hive
  • Where to site your hive
  • Overview of sustainable management
  • Swarming
  • Equipment needed
  • Costs involved
  • Plants for your bees

There will also be a chance to ask questions and discuss specific requirements. Once we’ve finished we can walk round the apiary and see the hives in situ and watch the bees come and go.

If you would like a bespoke course about beekeeping or bees in general I am very happy to accommodate a small group as a special event, tailored to your needs. Discounts available for multiple bookings. Please do get in touch – dates for this year are under the ‘Courses’ section.
